This tour of the Garden of Eden begins on the south side of the Garden, at the Garden of Eden sign. Quotes are from Dinsmoor’s Pictorial History of the Cabin Home in Garden of Eden, available in the Gift Shop.
Eve and Adam
“This is the tree of life. The angel is guarding the apples..” Below is Adam and Eve. “Two snakes form the grape arbor. One is giving Eve the apple.”
The Devil
“The Devil was in the Garden of Eden...in the background.... He has his fork poised on a little kid....my God would throw up his hand and save the kid.”
4 KIDS
“Later on, the four kids are on this tree. Moses never said a word about these girls, but...you know and I know...girls are always hanging around the boys, so I put them up, one in a swing and the other catching a bird.”
CAIN AND ABEL
“Moses says ‘Cain was a tiller of the soil’....He is offering (the Lord) a pumpkin... but he is trying to hide a hole in the pumpkin with his foot. Abel was a shepherd...and is holding up his offering, a dandy little buck Merino.”
SLAYING OF ABEL
“Here are Abel’s wife and shepherd dog, just discovered him dead. Cain was a tiller of the soil. I just imagine he got Abel out in the ‘tater patch and brained him with his hoe - laid him on this platform. The Angel is coming down after him. That is the way they used to bury the dead. nowadays, we tote them off to the bone yard.”
CAIN AND HIS WIFE

The redemption of man is the crucifixion, so I imagined the mark of Cain must be a little red cross placed in his forehead: typical of the future crucifixion that was to come.”
THE TRUST
“And here is the girl after the soldier...But she does not know that the trust has got her around the waist with one claw....that sign board are the things that we have chartered away. THE SOLDIER
“Here is the soldier with his gun shooting at the Indian on the next tree.”

CHAIN OF LIFE
“The dog is after the fox, fox after the bird, bird has its mouth open after a little worm eating a leaf. This shows how one animal is after another down to the leaf.”
Civilization
“Here is the next tree bringing down civilization as I think it should be. There is the Goddess of Liberty with one foot on the trusts and a spear in her hand going through the head of the trusts. Down below is a man and woman with a crosscut saw marked ballot, sawing off the chartered rights limb that the trust stands on.”
CRUCIFIXTION
“This is my coal house and ash pit, with Labor crucified above. I believe Labor has been crucified between a thousand grafters ever since Labor begun, but I could not put them all up, so I have put up the leaders - Lawyer, Doctor, Preacher and Banker. I do not say they are all grafters, but I do say they are the leaders of all who eat cake by the sweat of the other fellow’s face.”
MAUSOLEUM
